With a healthy dose of captivating drama and passionate sex and romance, "Elena Undone" combines the enchantment of falling in love for the first time with the reality and resposibilities of long-term commitments.
Before crossing paths with Peyton, falling for a woman was an unimaginable situation for Elena, a straight wife and mother. The friendship between Peyton, an out lesbian writer, and Elena, the wife of an anti-gay paster who has never experienced true love, transforms swiftly from a one-sided crush into a torrid extramarital affair. Despite their attraction, Peyton, jaded in a number of ways, has strong reservations about becoming involved with a married straight woman; Elena, recognizing that she is caught in a loveless marriage, can barely begin to rationalize the nature and magnitude of her desires.
As their relationship evolves, Elena confronts the choice of leaving her husband or
ending her involvement with Peyton to save her unraveling and unrewarding marriage and return to a drab and automated life. Above all, Elena faces the looming challenge of convincing Peyton that the two women have a bright future together despite their unfavorable circumstances.
Writer/Director Nicole Conn confidently tackles issues of religion, sex, family and commitment in this contemporary story about star-crossed lovers and the walls between them.

Nicole Conn - Writer/Director
Nicole Conn has been a die-hard romantic and black and white film fan from the age of ten.
Conn has written five novels, a teleplay, eight screenplays, and has produced two soundtracks. Her last venture before Elena Undone, was little man, a documentary she wrote, directed and produced about her own premature son born 100 days early and only weighing one pound. The feature documentary went on to win 12 Best Documentary Awards, along with the prestigious Cedar Sinai's Courageous Beginnings Award and Family Pride's Family Tree Award. The film made three TOP TEN FILMS OF 2005. Showtime picked up little man and ran an Emmy campaign on this hard-hitting story about Nicholas' premature birth and subsequent 5-month hospital stay in a Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit.
Conn's passion for film carried her through her first feature where she single-handedly raised the money, wrote, directed and produced Claire of the Moon, the maverick film about a woman's journey to her sexual identity. The film garnered rave reviews and paved the way for lesbian themed cinema in 1991. Conn also created an historic FIRST for lesbian cinema: ancillary in the form of a novelization (in its 15th reprint and 10 Year Anniversary Republish), a making-of documentary, MOMENTS (best-selling lesbian documentary ever made), soundtracks, posters, t-shirts, etc. She followed these projects with the award winning short film, Cynara...Poetry in Motion.
A two book deal with Simon Schuster produced the novels, Passion's Shadow (1995) & Angel Wings (1997), a new age love story. The script adaptation for Angel Wings won the 2001 Telluride Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award. In another pioneering effort, The Wedding Dress was chosen by AOL Time Warner for its new internet endeavor ipublish, which debuted in June 2001. She Walks in Beauty was published in September, 2001 and is currently in development as a feature film along with several other original screenplays Conn has penned.
Conn achieved industry recognition with her film Claire of the Moon and was a finalist in the prestigious Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science's Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting. She believes in giving back to the community and sponsored the Claire of the Moon Scholarship in 1998, awarding second time novelists through the ASTRAEA Foundation.

Nicole and I had our only weekend getaway (48 whole hours away from our six children) since we had gotten together almost two years earlier -- and while driving back from Ojai I casually asked her, "Why aren't there more lesbian movies out there?" Her answer was long and complicated and I won't go into detail, but in any case I posed the challenge, "Well, why dont we give it a go?" Nicole loves to make films, and honestly I've always wanted to make them as well, and we're not getting any younger.
Nicole sarcastically noted, "Yeah, I'll think about that, but just so you know the only story I'd like to tell at this point is our story and who wants to hear about two mid-life moms in a millenial Brady Bunch redux?" Well, if we actually put our life on screen, no one would buy it. We are the poster family for diversity smack dab in the heart of La Canada - same sex, disabled, ethnic, adoptive, step, democratic - we were surrounded by Yes on 8 and McCain signs, if you can believe it.
Anyway, within six days Nicole had banged out a rough draft of a story loosely based on us. See, we believe in the reality of soul mates. The fact that I was in my fifth decade, had been married for 11 years, was inordinately straight, with four kids of my own and had never even remotely entertained the idea of kissing a girl - and then fell head over heels in love with Nicole made me realize, this person, who happens to be a woman, is my soul mate.
We've hit many bumps in the road on the way through pre-production and shooting, each time thinking, OMG, what are we going to do now? Each time we have discovered that the challenge proved to make Elena Undone all the better. Those happy mistakes soon became our reality, and as Jane always sighs after a moment of despair, "Don't worry guys, all is as it should be." We soon became believers of the term that popped into Nicole's head one day as she was writing Tyler's character - Soulemetry - where the universe is full of happy mistakes and all is as it should be.
We hope you enjoy and celebrate with Nicole and I the true nature of love as we see it. It has been one of our greatest gifts and we look forward to sharing it with you.
Yours,
Marina

An innovative, improvisational keyboardist, she performs over 150 dates a year with her band The Sequins throughout North America, Europe and Asia. In 2009, Sage made her debut at the worlds largest arts festival, Edinburgh Fringe, where she performed a week-long run of her show Sequins & Shpiel to rave reviews. A subsequent sold-out revival of the show at New Yorks Joes Pub was recommended as a Top Pick by both the New York Daily News and Time Out.
Sage, who has shared stages with Sarah McLachlan, Judy Collins, Marc Cohn, The Animals and Ani DiFranco, was named one of the Top 100 Independent Artists Of The Past 15 Years by Performing Songwriter magazine. A Grand Prize-Winner in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest (Rock) as well as 2-time winner of both the OUTMusic and Independent Music Awards, Sage has earned a loyal following for her infectious melodies, poetic lyrics, and often-outrageous, colorful stage banter.
Her new self-produced album, DELANCEY STREET, contains a dozen tracks of what CMJ calls a resonant mixture of pop, folk and jazz; inspired by the urgency of the Green Movement as well as her Jewish immigrant heritage, it is Sages most revealing work to date."

When she was thirteen, Ashley Matte locked herself in her bedroom and taught herself to play the guitar. While her smooth bluesy sounds are deeply influenced by her favorites, Sarah McLachlan, Bonnie Raitt, and John Mayer, Ashley has developed her own uniqueness for performing and a talent for songwriting.
Ashleys music is poetic and inspired by her Southern roots that give a little soulful influence, making it a sound that allows fans to connect. Nashville tradition, coffeehouse intimacy, and emotionally mature pop sounds are all trademarks of Ashley Matte. Anyone who loves melodic guitar riffs and a passionate voice will be instantly pleased.
When she moved to San Diego nearly 6 years ago, Ashley began playing immediately at local venues in Pacific Beach and popular places downtown. She quickly gathered a strong following for her music and as a result, Coach House Records made her an offer she could not refuse--her very own record deal. Since finishing her album "Colors" which has been sold in stores nation-wide, Ashley has shared the stage with national acts such as The Fray, Gavin Degraw, Chris Isaak, Dishwalla, Dave Matthews Band and Linda Perry. She has also shared her music with many charities to help fund community programs needed throughout southern California. Ashley just recently released her second studio record, No Number No Address.
NEW ALBUM ENOUGH ABOUT ME (3/2/2010) + NEW WEBSITE + ON THE ROAD AGAIN!!
Its my new album of eight songs written by other artists that I have borrowed and re-created to make my own plus two new re-visited/re-recorded/fully produced versions of Bad Habit and Hypocrite off my last record, Goodbye Youth! Youll be able to buy the record on Itunes on MARCH 2.
Ever since I was a little girl, growing up in a suburban neighborhood in Houston, TX, I've always had a vivid imagination. Movie scenes played out in my head, and I was always in the leading role. I remember sneaking into my parents' closets and putting on mismatched items of clothes and creating characters. The family dog, Spot, became my sidekick, and it seemed he needed a real, respectable name. So I called him Spot Raymond Foster.
I never lost that imagination. When I began playing guitar at age 8, music became the soundtrack for the movies in my head. I absorbed all the music I could, mostly from the radio and from the records my brothers played. I loved pop, rock, and singer/songwriter music. I was instantly attracted to catchy melodies, and by the time I wrote my first song at 16, I was a fan of thought-provoking lyrics. James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Jackson Brown, and Bob Dylan were just some of the artists that inspired me.
I began winning talent contests at the Catholic all-girls high school I attended, and I decided I was going to be a rock star. (That imagination was still hard at work!). I loved the attention I was getting, but even more than that, I felt like I had something important to say. You see, I was having an experience that I was quite certain nobody else in the whole world was having: I was falling in love with another girl. It was the eighties, and since nobody I knew spoke openly about such things, I felt isolated with my feelings.
Broken hearts, constant turmoil, people's judgmental stares, my parents' rejection. These are just some of the things that colored my world at this point and gave me material to write about. The theme of feeling like an outsider permeates my music, largely because of that struggle in those early years. I always related intensely to the people everyone else made fun of . "The Underdogs" project that I released in 2006 is about that, and that theme will always live on in my music, because it's such a part of who I am.
I went to Los Angeles for college (and mainly to become a rock star). But alas, my dreams were to be crushed. The much-coveted Major Record Label Deal was always elusive. I played coffee-houses and even well-known rock clubs like the Whiskey-A-Go-Go and the Troubadour, but nothing panned out and I ended up working as a receptionist at a luggage company called Ricardo of Beverly Hills. (You probably have one of their duffel bags). I quickly decided that when it came to becoming a rock star, LA was a big city and I was a little fish. That imagination of mine was longing for more. So I had a yard sale and moved to Nashville, where I had the sneaking suspicion I could possibly grow into a big fish in that relatively little pond. I felt that I had some great music inside of me and that my calling was to share that with as many people as possible.
